The mind is subject to the biology of the brain. The brain swims aloof in an ocean of chemicals. The atoms swirling around these cells will never assume the same positions they had in the moment we just left. As our minds change the ideas we have of ourselves change also. The only barometer we have for defining the self is what others tell us. 

We take comfort in seeing ideas dance on screen, ideas like ourselves. Synthetic creation makes where we live appear less strange. We’ve all had those thoughts. The ones that send us down rabbit holes fueled by mind-numbing curiosity. The ones that leave us a little heavier on the way out.

There’s something special about a community of people willing to bring their fandom to life. A community of ideas willing to support an idea of their own. This would be impossible without our fans, the men and women that make all of it possible. The reason my words appear on this site in the first place.
