Thunderlord
Hasn’t changed from Y1, the issue is, in PvP there’s many other Legendary options that are just as formidable.
Empyrean Bellicose
Titans are getting a taste of Angel of Light with this helm! In addition to floating, “Orbs collected while your Super is full will recharge your melee ability.”
To hover in mid-air while firing a weapon is both a good and bad thing. It gives you unparalleled vision and an unobstructed FoV, but comes at the cost of protective cover. The second perk, while novel in its design, seems a little situational. Holding on to a Super is not always conducive to healthy team or solo play.
Skyburners Annex
This helm doubles down on what the class, or at least, what Nighstalkers are already used for: Orb generation. The chance for an orb is roughly 50% or more from anecdotal experience, and when you’re chewing through enemies with a Sword while they’re fated to death with Blood Bound, your team will be staggered by the amount of Orbs you suddenly have for them on the field. And when they return the favor by cleaning house with their Supers, every orb you pick up beyond your Super being full has a chance to grant Special ammo.
As a few extra Sniper shots can often make or break your DPS phases, and you’ll hold a Nightstalker tether for certain occasions anyway, Skyburners Annex is well-designed, and I would probably give it a low A or high B tier for PvE. It’s really a close one.
Alchemist’s Raiment
This chest piece is all about making the grind easier. It allows you to gather Glimmer faster than usual, and get through those strikes with endless grenades and melees if you’re playing Sunsinger and holding on to your Super for awhile. 87 Intellect is a Warlock’s best friend, but if you’re tight on coins the Raiment might not be your first pick overall. Very useful in the long run, but won’t immediately give you any competitive edge.
Being one of the few Y2 options with straight up +Heavy/+Special ammo, its intrinsic perk grants increased grenade/melee cooldown for every orb collected when your super is full. This synergizes excellently with several competitive PvE builds, including the never-gonna-super Sunsinger and the Tlaloc/Perpetual Charge Stormcaller.
