When we set out to make Shadow Complex a few years back, we wanted to create a game that was reminiscent of the classic non-linear 2D sidescrollers that we’d always loved. This beloved genre provided some of our most memorable gaming experiences, with games like Super Metroid and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night – but it had been largely abandoned for over a decade, in favor of new games pushing 3D graphics.
